Ajax in Brazil for Vasco de Gama friendly

Many European teams would love to spend their winter break in Brazil. But then, few teams are as prestigous as Ajax. And even fewer would be invited to play in South America by Vasco de Gama. Ajax joined the locals for a relaxed training session on the beach during their one week stay in Brazil. The trip has offered the likes of Christian Eriksen a break from continuous transfer rumours, it may be a different story for his agent though.

The Dutch champions will actually train on a football pitch before they take on Vasco de Gama on Sunday. Ajax have not played since drawing with Utrecht on December 23rd. Vasco finished fifth in the Brazilian Serie A and start their Campeonato Carioca campaign against Boavista on January 19th. Ajax return to Eredivisie action against Feyenoord the following day.
